The best sweet potato dish EVER!

I first had this delictable dish on Thanksgiving when my friend, Jen, brought it to dinner.  She told me she had a good sweet potato dish that she would bring, ok great!  On Thanksgiving I am a side dish person!  I am all about the sides and take very little meat and rolls.  I sat down with my full plate and tasted the sweet potatoes and...
 OH MY!
They were straight from heaven!

I am not joking they were so good I savored every bite and had to restrain
myself from mmmming and ahhhing with every bite!
Yes I took a picture of it that day knowing someday I would share it with you.

Ok so on with the recipe...

Praline Sweet Potatoes
4 cups of mashed sweet potatoes - just peel, cut up, and boil, then mash
1/2 cup sugar
2 T. vanilla
4 eggs beaten
1 cup heavy cream
Mix all of the above ingredients together and spread into a 9x13 pan.

Topping
1 stick of butter room temperature
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour (she used rice flour for me to make it GF and it still tasted great!)
1 1/4 cup chopped pecans
Mix these ingredients together with a fork until crumbly.
Sprinkle this mixture over potato mixture and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
Enjoy the greatness!

Hope you try these and enjoy them!
Leftovers are just as good!

Ribbon Glorious Ribbon!

I LOVE ribbon!

I don't know why, I can't explain it, I just love everything about it!
I recently discovered the ribbon selection at Hobby Lobby and Oh My!

I was giddy!

I happened to discover it on a 50% off all ribbon day!
That was trouble!
Here is what I bought the first day...
I only had plans for two of these.  Each of these, except the rick rack was $1.99 then 50% off.  LOVE IT!

So I went back another day and came away with these...
I have no plans for any of these!  And yes I like polka dots!  These were all only $1.00 after the discount!
There are still so many more that I would like to go back and get!
I probably should come up with a project first!

Christmas Plaques

First I must apologize for our absence!
We have both been busy elves preparing for Christmas!
We hope to have a little breathing time soon to show you some of our crafts from this season.  We have not forgotten about this little blog, we just need a few more hours in our day!

In November I found a wonderful blog and fell in love with several projects from it.
It is called Just Another Hang Up, you must check it out!

Every month she creates a word plaque that goes with the holiday/season of that month.  You simply email her and request the plaque and she emails it right to you.  Then you print it off on to some great paper, then modge podge it onto a 7x7 board that you have painted.  I can find my boards at Hobby Lobby for a mere $1.47, Joann's has them too but they are $3.00.

Usually she only has one pattern but for December she actually did 4 different ones.
Here are three of them.

I have made 15 of these plaques this season to give as gifts.  They are quite easy to craft.

Have fun and check out Just Another Hang Up!
